Meadows Montessori has been running for over 15 years and is a well-known and highly regarded nursery school operating in the Saffron Walden area. We offer full day child care, along with sessional care for children aged 2 to 5 years.

Meadows recently moved into a brand new purpose built building in the grounds of the Katherine Semar Infant School.

All children in our care are able to develop positively in our unique home from home environment.  Our exceptional setting is designed with the child in mind so that they are in control of their individual learning; this is based around the teaching philosophies of Maria Montessori.

Maria Montessori

Maria Montessori was the first female doctor of her time. In 1907 she opened her first Montessori school using materials and methods that she had devised and developed from her work and studies of child psychology. She was the very first person to invent child sized furniture and equipment.

As well as following the Montessori teaching method we combine our knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage alongside the work of other child theorists to provide all children in our care with a varied and balanced learning programme.

All Staff are highly qualified and some have been with the Meadows from the very beginning.
